ASK Proxima Ovation 900 Series Projector Panels
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the fan come on when the power switch is off?
When the overhead projector is on and the panel is plugged in, but the power switch is off, the fan will continue to run. This
keeps the panel cool. After the overhead projector is turned off, the fan in the panel will stop.
Cyclops has been calibrated and the mouse pointer follows the Cyclops pointer, so why can't I click on anything?
Bring up the panel menus, and check the Cyclops menu; Button should be set to LEFT. Also check in Windows, Control Panel,
Mouse, to see if "Swap Left/Right Buttons" is checked. This option should be unchecked for Cyclops to function in Windows.
What type of mouse can be used with the panel?
When using a mouse connected to the serial port on the panel, the mouse must be a Microsoft brand serial mouse.
How can I "Fit to View" or zoom the projected image?
The following table illustrates which buttons to use to zoom and "Fit to View" different resolutions.
Resolution Button on Panel Button on Remote
NTSC, PAL, SECAM Fit to View Zoom
640 x 480 Fit to View Zoom
800 x 600 N/A (Image not scaleable) N/A (Image not scaleable)
1024 x 768 N/A (Image not scaleable) N/A (Image not scaleable)
1152 x 900 Fit to View Preview
1280 x 1024 Fit to View Preview
With a 1280x1024 or 1152x900 input signal, the entire image does not appear on the panel. How can I display
the entire image?
The image can be seen in two ways. The first way is to use the arrow keys to pan the image around the panel. The second
way is to use the "Fit to View" feature to compress a 1280x1024 image to 1024x768. "Fit to View" is the ability to see the
entire 1280x1024 image on a 1024x768 projection panel.
NOTE When a 1152x900 image is in Fit to View mode, a small border will appear around the image.
When a 640x480 image is zoomed to full size or a 1280x1024 image is in Fit to View mode, sometimes there are vertical
lines through the image. To eliminate the vertical lines, increase the Brightness (in the Image menu) or adjust the Vertical
Position (in the Advanced menu) down.
Why does the 800x600 image have a black border around it?
Since the panel is 1024x768 and the image is 800x600, the area not filled in is black. The Fit to View feature will not change
the size of the image.
How can I reset the factory settings for ALL input sources?
To reset all settings to the factory settings, ensure the panel is turned on, press power, press each of the four arrow keys,
power light will blink twice, press power.
